Car wont move in any gears after heavy rain flooded back and front driver side.can't see leak anywhere

Asked by panduze Sep 22, 2016 at 08:27 AM about the 2000 Lexus RX 300 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After a couple of days of heavy rain my Lexus RX300 has large puddles of
rain in the back and front drivers side.  I backed the car out of the driveway
and was unable to go forward. the car completely conked out.  Would not start
and the gears stick (automatic) slides up and down as if it is not engaging.  Is
this an electrical problem or is the transmission shot?

Flush the transmission and have them check the shift solenoids.
