The d light on dasboard

The d light on the dashboard went off everything is
normal but does that light going off  is it supposed
to mean something?

Are other letters to left and right of D letter? If yes, the letters indicate what gear the car is in. The D, means the car is in drive. That being the case, it won't matter if the D light is on or off, as long as you know where the shift lever position should be. Usually drive comes one notch after neutral.

Above my spedometer there is a DRL lite up. Ive never seen this before and am wondering what it means in my honda crv
