2007 Corvette Drive Train Noise

Asked by GuruDD7BMT Nov 02, 2023 at 08:53 AM about the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When decelerating between 70mph and 60mph I can hear a somewhat high
pitched humming noise. Not sure is rear or transmission issue. This only
happens on deceleration.

If the noise is coming from the rear, it's likely the transaxle. It's actually a transmission affixed to a mounted differential providing independent rear suspension. As passenger heads are so close to it, these sounds are usually normal, but exaggerated. If the sound seems abnormal, have it checked out. You might have a lack of lubricant in the axle or low transmission fluid.
