1998 firebird formula turns over but want start

i have a worn gear in righr front headlight .when i cut them off the motor runs for 5 seconds. wife come home cut the light off motor run 5 seconds.then when she got to our back deck she heard it run again. now it turns over but will not start. is it security system?

the security light stayed on blink that night.but we did not do it with the remote.we had 2 quit using the remot because of the stripped gear in hl motor.now when i go to start it the security light blinks for 5 seconds and goes off/normal/but the car turns over but want crank

You need to check for spark, if it has spark then check fuel pressure, if fuel pressure is good then check for injector pulse.

ok iwill try that this weekend. can do spark check and can borrow guage 4 fuel press. not sure about injector pulse. so u dont think its security system? also i can hear fuel pump turn on

If the security system is having an issue then it will turn the light on and leave it on. Just because the pump runs doesn't mean it has good pressure. To check injector pulse you can rent a noid light set from auto zone which you unplug the injestor and plug the noid light into the harness, crank the engine and watch for it to blink. If it blinks its getting pulse.

I have a trans am 1999 it starts up then cut off it keep resetting itself the security light comes on then go off
