My jeep don't want to go into reverse

mrs. Davidson you must elaborate! standard or automatic .Im assuming automatic for sure, check the fluid first, jeep has a verity of vehicles referred to as a jeep. I'm assuming a wrangler. Wont go in reverse. like the shifter has combs and I pods down the console blocking mecnisum or a broken reverse band strut in the transmission. that's all for now

my 90 jeep Cherokee take a while to kick in when i put it in reverse
