I assume something is sticking, air idle control value, throttle body,.EGR
Leads me to think it's getting a rich fuel/air mix. Start in cold with a rich mix, as it should, (more fuel than should be in mix) and in warm the rich mix, well, not exactly 'floods' but same principle. Could be some sensor, something feeding wrong signal(s) to ECU. I think an OBD scan is called for on this one. Will eliminate much guesswork, and not buy unneeded parts. It's not an 02 sensor, as it is in open loop on start up. But possibly MAF or MAP
