fix transmission on 93 ford e150 van w/ 158,000 miles, or get rid of it?
Trying to decide whether it's worth it to fix a 93 conversion van that was given to us or are the miles too high to make it worthwhile for our own use? The air conditioner is also not working, not sure if there's more but that's what we know of. Thanks!

We were given a 1990 Ford van 3 years ago and it's still running strong. Body is falling off but "It's a Ford":>) Odometer just goes to 99,999.99 so aside from the fact that it was from the original owners we don't know if its 160k or 260k. Going to drive it till I have to park it on the road somewhere, call our local auto junkyard, and sell it for $100:>)

I have a 1995 Ford conversion van that we bought used in 1999 with 25,000 miles on it. I put in a performance chip at 50,000 miles and ran it on premium fuel since. Best thing I could have done! Great performance better gas mileage and a lot more fun to drive. It now has 160,000 miles and I'm going to spend some money, about 2,000 dollars to refurbish it. Compared to buying new It's still a bargain. It keeps going and going and going. I'm quite happy with this one, our third Ford van.
