Seller accepting payment, what protection is there?
What does the below statement on the CarGurus website mean? I took the below statement to mean that Carguru brokers the payment. Going through the questions and the terms of service that doesn't seem to be the case.
"No cash or bank checks. Verified, secure online transaction with $75,000 in protection."
This is extremely misleading, how is the online transaction protected? What does no cash or bank checks mean?

CG's does nothing regarding finances. You need to go to AutoPay.
Use common sense (rare these days) and talk to your banker about forms of acceptable payment.
The Question forum here doesn't have the latest information. Go to the Help section with the Knowledgebase and it talks about purchase protection. https://cargurus.helpscoutdocs.com/article/197-purchase-protection-program-terms-conditions
Stop spreading misinformation F_O_R, if you don't know the answer don't respond.

Can you read? From CG's. The PPP is managed by a third party service provider, AUTOPAY Direct, Inc. (the "Provider"), that is not affiliated with CarGurus, Inc ("CarGurus"). Your purchase and use of the PPP will be governed by an agreement between you and the Provider.
Can you read, I am not talking about financing. CG's does act as the intermediary for payment processing, look at the helpdocs. Your answer isn't for this question. Why do you insist on answering with wrong or unhelpful information. https://cargurus.helpscoutdocs.com/article/232-secure-private-party-transactions
From the CarGurus help docs: “Note: We are unable to assist with our Secure Transaction service if you are proceeding with external financing. This is due to most lenders having their own rules and processes that conflict with our Secure Transaction service and restrict them from working with 3rd parties such as us and AUTOPAY.”
