You need the title. https://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/export-docs/motor-vehicle
Thanks KenF, does the online listed price for the vehicle usually include sales tax, i.e. if for direct export will sales tax amount be deducted from the listed price of car?? and is there a way to know if a specific dealer sells for export other than contacting them directly. thanks for the clarification
Car prices here in the USA do not include sales taxes, that is usually paid by the buyer when you transfer the title in your home state (for domestic buyers). If I'm not mistaken, international buyers do not have to pay any sales tax when buying a car and shipping it over seas. Also, if I'm not mistaken, you do not need to transfer any titles here or pay to register the car here. So you should be able to avoid those sort of taxes and fees. What happens when you pick your car up from customs in your home country is another matter.
