2009 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 09 Corolla LE with 244k miles. Body
and interior are in really good shape. It's
been garaged since I bought it. All the
miles are freeway miles. Everything works
great on the car. The check engine light
went on and I began to hear a rattle. I took
it to my mechanic and he told me one of
cylinders was is losing compression and
misfiring. It's not a coil and something
mechanical inside the engine. He
suggested do 3 things, sell it, run it until it
dies or have the engine rebuild/replaced.
Asumming the costs to place the engine
would be 2-3k, would it be worth it to fix
the car? Only issue with the car is the
engine, everything else is clean.
