SUV for Disabled Teacher and Mother
Hello! I am 37 years old and I have been disabled for 4 1/2
years. I have a disease called Reflex Sympathetic
Dystrophy or Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. It is the
most painful form of chronic pain. I used to be an
elementary music teacher and because teachers do not
pay into social security we cannot apply for SSDI. The
county where I worked paid a private disability insurance
company. Because RSD is considered a "neurological
disorder," it is a limited condition in which I was paid 60%
of my salary for 2 years. I haven't received a paycheck
since October 2015. I have a 6 year old little girl and she's
never known me to be healthy. The reason I need an SUV
is because I cannot get in a car that is low to the ground
because I have a Spinal Cord Stimulator. Any time I have
to stoop down to get in a car my SCS surges and it's
basically like getting shocked. I did have an SUV, but due
to the fact I could no longer afford the car note I had to
voluntarily turn the car back to the loan company. I know
their are companies that donate cars for recovering
addicts, disabled veterans etc. So I am wondering if
anyone knows someone or they themselves could donate
an SUV for tax writes or any other purpose. I sure would
appreciate any contact information that could help me!
Please refrain from writing any rude or offensive
comments because this is extremely difficult for me to ask
and an even more difficult situation. Thank you in
advance!
