If you can get the details of why it is a salvage car you can get some good deals. Older cars can be totaled by an insurance company for a dented fender but newer cars that are salvage I would stay away from.

To answer the question: Salvage is a damaged vehicle that insurance paid off to the owner bacause repairs were higher than value of vehicle. So they give you what blue book value is at that time
