Just got into the car day before ran no problem. Then engine light starts
flashing. Wow what water pump job I am thinking king put oil in it last time this
happen the oil cap wasn't on right. This time Not....what's up.

Will do as the auto zones here don't check for codes anymore that's what they said to me. Or ok wait until a shop is open then we can read codes.

I changed the battery on my 2007 Rabbit. All was fine. The next day when I started my car most of the warning lights were ON (ABS, ECP, brake was flashing, steering and engine). The speedometer did not work, but the car runs fine. Everything works (lights, stereo, wipers and pump, windows, etc). VW technicians says no communication with any modules, new ones are needed. 1998 beetle. Went for oil change. As soon as they completed it my check engine light came on. They checked code, was some emmissions code. Okay so the light goes out 2 days later. A few days later the car wont start, like it is out of gas, it's turning but not catching. I let it sit for 1/2 hr then it starts and the engine light back on. Everything fine for a few days then the same thing happens out of the blue. Just happened again to me. Car was fine, no light on then i go somewhere, park it, get back in and it wont start like its out of gas...let it sit for half hour and then it starts like nothing was wrong and the engine light back on now. What could be wrong? I am not out of gas. Did the guy doing the oil change/new filter mess something up? 6 Answers
