Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a '98 chevy. Replaced the pinion
bearing and seal once already. It started
leaking so we replaced the seal a second
time and it is still leaking pretty bad. Any
ideas of what i need to do differently??? All
help is very appreciated!!

Check to see if a groove is worn into the part that the seal rides on. If it is grooved then there is your problem. The fix is to either replace the grooved part or use a speedi-sleeve to repair it if available.

There is a groove, thank you!! That is the conclusion we came to as well. We will fix this and hope it works!
