I have an 89' Toyota pickup, its a 5-speed manual with a V6. Was rolling in 5th gear going 60, heard aloud screeching noise and it threw us forward in the seat and slowed it immediately to about 40.I pulled off to the side of the road and smoke was coming from under the truck.I looked around and couldn't see anything visibly wrong.I started it up again just fine and started rolling in 1st gear, then I tried to shift to 2nd the truck just stopped and wouldn't go into any gear.At this point the truck will start but when I let the clutch out, it dies(in neutral). Had to remove my drive shaft to be towed on towrope because it wouldn't roll smooth in neutral. When the engine is running now I don't feel any vibration through the gearshift anymore like how I used to before it broke down. What could it be? 3 Answers

1998 beetle. Went for oil change. As soon as they completed it my check engine light came on. They checked code, was some emmissions code. Okay so the light goes out 2 days later. A few days later the car wont start, like it is out of gas, it's turning but not catching. I let it sit for 1/2 hr then it starts and the engine light back on. Everything fine for a few days then the same thing happens out of the blue. Just happened again to me. Car was fine, no light on then i go somewhere, park it, get back in and it wont start like its out of gas...let it sit for half hour and then it starts like nothing was wrong and the engine light back on now. What could be wrong? I am not out of gas. Did the guy doing the oil change/new filter mess something up? 6 Answers

I just inherited a 95 Dodge Stealth four speed. Most of the time it starts, but every once in a while, when the key is turned it does not start. I hear a click. Nothing. Do this four times, sometimes less, and it starts. I had battery, starter and Distributor cap checked out at Advance. Any ideas what it could be? I am a girl so don't laugh.
