96 s10 2.2 starts to misfire under a load when I get into the throttle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I ease into the gas it'll run ok
but when I go slightly harder it starts
to misfire and looses power. Any
thoughts? I've changed plugs, wires,
both cool packs, fuel filter, air filter
and just can't find the problem. I
have 230,000 miles could it be
internal?

Check the catalatic converter. If plugged can cause this problem. Do you have good exhaust flow?

It just reads misfire on the code and I gutted the cat a while back. There was a rattle coming from it so I broke the rest out so its basically like a straight pipe
