My 2005 Acura TL with 105K check engine light came on. Although transmission shifts smoothly with no issues, I could not drive above 10 miles per hour after leaving a traffic light. Pulled to side and shifted into park. Then shifted back to drive and drove away without an issue reaching cruising speed. Engine light remains on but problem did not repeat on 5 mile return trip home. Thoughts on what this could be?

I have a 2005 Bmw 330i zhp. I was driving out of a gas station when it suddenly started making engine noise, then the oil light came on, then the check engine light. I drove it about 2 miles home where i parked it. I scanned it and now reads p0012. I changed out the Vanos sensor $200 later and it did not fix. I have checked the oil filter and it looks okay. I run 93 octane and use castrol fully synthetic with perfect changed invtervals. I reset the code and the check engine light went away but the oil light is alluminated from the start and its RED. The engine makes a ticking/knocking noise as if it has something inside it rattling. Just got the car back a few weeks ago from the transmission shop $2500 LATER and now its doing this. I dont know what it could be and i cant just continue to throw money into it. Can anyone please tell me what this could be? this is really hard on me as its my only car.. 4 Answers

1998 beetle. Went for oil change. As soon as they completed it my check engine light came on. They checked code, was some emmissions code. Okay so the light goes out 2 days later. A few days later the car wont start, like it is out of gas, it's turning but not catching. I let it sit for 1/2 hr then it starts and the engine light back on. Everything fine for a few days then the same thing happens out of the blue. Just happened again to me. Car was fine, no light on then i go somewhere, park it, get back in and it wont start like its out of gas...let it sit for half hour and then it starts like nothing was wrong and the engine light back on now. I have a 2012 Toyota RAV4, with 26000 miles on it. Its a 4 wheel drive and V6 vehicle. On Friday I came to my car and remote did not work, I manually had to open the door and engine did not start either. I called road side and they jump started the car, I went to apartment leasing office and again engine did not start. Called road side and they came and said it is not a battery problem.
