What can make my 1997 Mercedes Benz c230 sputter at take off and shift hard

Just had to chNge tourque dampner  
and there is a humming still comin
from under the middle of the middle
of back end

It could be a dirty MAF ( mass air flow sensor ) or even a bad coil pack. I would try cleaning the MAF first since that it the cheapest and easiest option.
