Rpm goes up?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have daweoo nubira model 1998. When
start the engine, R.P.M goes up for about
1500 to 2000 and the check is on.after i go
with it and accelerate, rpm return normal
but when slowing and stop the rpm is high
and the check indicator is on. Can any one
help me?

Agreed. Have the code(s) read with an OBDII scanner and let us know what the codes are. It could be a throttle position sensor giving you the trouble, but pulling the code will be a good start.
