Question type: Maintenance & Repair

this car when trying to take a run at a hill or take off from a standing start just basically won't go and we we need speed and acceleration a lot of times and it just bogs down. we have had cars an trucks over the years, fwd, rwd, and had no problems. Getting into traffic with this car is dangerous when it wants to go only 2mph because of a little now or ice.

From what I have read if you place your car in either "first" or "second" gear it disables the traction control. This is to over come issues/conditions you are incountering. Hope this helps

They also state that if you pull your e brake up one click it will also disable it.

Some say that models after 2003 these things wont work but suggest going to dealer and having a tech turn it off for you.
