1994 Jeep Cherokee shimmies on the front end.

Front differential has been disconnected.  4X4 does not work.  Bad shimmy when going 50
MPH or more.

First, check the tires for uneven wear. You could well have any of a few issues going on. Tires out of balance will do this. Wheel bearings with play will certainly do this. Any of the un-sprung weight that is out of balance could do this. Broken belts in the tires will do the same. If it is wheel bearing play, you may find the shimmy as bad after the repair as before if the tires are damaged by it.
