My son"s car-1998 contour,ran fine,to work.He tried to start it,for the drive home-No Luck..It has spark,fuel,and tries to start,when you hold pedal at full throttle..I replaced the T.P.S.,and same thing.. Any suggestions?? I cannot talk him into scrapping it..

If it has the 2.0 it has a timing belt maybe it broke or jumped time. If you have a 2.5 it has a timing chain. which motor does it have?

If it has a timing chain, the chain could have jumped a tooth. That will make it hard to start and no power.

It has the 2.0 engine in it.The timing belt is intact-I replaced it 6000 miles ago..It started,but only holding the gas pedal Wide open..Hence-the TPS replacement..I"m stumped...

possible IAC valve issue if it starts with the throttle plate open. Maybe a mass air flow sensor issue. What do you think tenspeed?

Hello I took my wife to eat car was running fine came out of the eatery and started the car I did not think it started so I turned the key to start again the car quit now there is no dash lights when I try to start and it acts like there is no battery in it but the battery is good. Car has been running fine for months till I hit start again when it was running 2 Answers

Please help I have a 2001 Mitsubishi spider GT has spark no start. Getting fuel, cranks just will not start. We put gas in and it started. So he went to th gas station and put 5 dollars in. The pump would not let any more in. He was able to take care of some things which he said things were fine for a coup...
