hmm that is a good question both are awesome cars and both are awd but the evo has more power and is probably not lighter the then skyline so who knows they would have to race them together but i think the evo might win if i was going to place a bet

I will take both 2005 models since you didn't specify the Nismo R34's year and i will compare on 0-60 times. Both cars are special editions, there is only 20 models of the Nismo R34 GTR made and 100 of the Evo VIII MR FQ- 400. So, here it goes... 1-Nissan GTR 2009 : 3.4secs 2-Nismo Skyline GTR Z-Tune 2005 : 4.0secs 3-Mitsubishi Evo VIII MR FQ-400: 3.5secs

0-100 km/h times are bullshit. Look for how fast they did the 'ring

well...the gtr blows both these cars out of the water...it did the nurburgring in 7:29...the bigger contest would be between the nismo r34 and the evo...and btw the gtr was recorded doing 0-60 in 3.2 seconds...

well that also depends on which gtr you have all of them have different power ratings because of the way they build the motors. so some were only do like 4.0 or something like that. I cant wait to see how well the v-spec GT-R does.

Did you know on the Top Gear show the FQ-400 had the record for the leased average of mpg lol it only got 3.6 mpg when they were beating the hell out of it and the Ford GT40 got 4 mpg to put in perspective.

^^ exactly... for the new GTR ( R35 in Japan) each motor is hand built and then MATCHED to a transmission... so if you ever blow a trans... be prepared to spend a shitload of money to have another motor hand built and then matched to a new trans... the thing is sweet... and it handles like hell.... i got to see and touch one recently... but the R34 holds a special place in my heart. altho the technology in the new GTR is pulling me in... race mode = awesomeness.

like you said Id actually rather have the R34 even though all said and done it would much more money then the new GT-R. The body styling of the R34 is probably my favorite out of all the cars ever made. definitly more striped and less refined then R35 but thats what i like. Probably a hell of a lot cheaper to tune and boost the performance the the new GT-R but that car is an awesome piece of machinery probably one of if not the best in the last decade

ya...ur rite, they are all hand built...but i think the slowest 0-60 is probably 3.5-3.6...it does 4s without the use of launch control...the spec v is gonna be CRAZY...it was "casually" clocked doing the nurburgring in 7:25...and they are shaving 200 lb and gaining power to about 520hp...gonna be awesome...

this car simply defies physics...it has all that technology in it and u still feel the raw power of the car...i saw it at the auto show here in toronto back in february...AMAZING...sooo much better in person...but ya i think the r34 holds a special place in anyone's heart...its a legend, that car...

btw has anyone seen Jeremy Clarkson's review of the car on Top Gear? he loved it...and it did amazing around the STIG track too...

Just wondering, if anyone of you guys remember the engine displacement of a skyline compared to a lancer evo? For a four cylinder engine to do those numbers...
