Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1986 Ford ranger originally a v6 2.9l but wanting
to make it faster I have a 302 block bored 40 over . My
question is is the 302 going to mount to the motor
mounts or do I need to buy new ones? . And transmission
wise thinking of going with a t5 but do I have to make any
changes other then a new transmission crossmember ?  I
know I can buy the swap kit online from different websites
but just wanted to ask someone that has done the same
swap so I know for a fact what I need

Obviously going from a 2.9 to a built 5.0 is going to require fabrications to the drivetrain to be able to support such a difference in torque. Rear end, driveline, transmission you get those 3 sorted out your mint.

That's of course assuming were talking carbureted if its fuel injected then theres other issues

The easiest way to make this smog legal would be to install a Fox body Mustang engine that is 1986 or newer.
