license plate removal and registration

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

During the transaction of selling I sign over the title after getting paid.  How can
the car be driven if I take the plates and registration away?  The buyer needs to
submit title to get new plates and registration.

I would perform the signing over the title and removing and adding a new plate at the DMV or auto notary depending on your state.

You need to check your states DMV rules. In my state the plates stay with the car.
