Hey, you know that CarGurus commercial where the man is a weak, stupid unshaven slob, and the wife is attractive, smart and strong? Well that really makes me want to use your product. I know it's the trendy thing to do to make white males look weak and stupid, but I'm a white male and when my mother, my wife or my daughters need a car they get me to do it because they know nothing about cars and could care less........Just something for you folks to think about.

Weaklings need to denigrate those that are stronger. Keep that in mind when you see commercials like this.

No More Ad about Male Incompetence: There is a kind of mental set among agency creatives that they have to knock or cast males as dumb, slovenly, and incompetent. This kind of narrative has outlived its impact and is degrading, unproductive, and assumptive. We need ads and messaging from CarsGuru that solve and provide an effective means of how males and females acquire the use of a vehicle.
