Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck will not start and when hooked up to the scanner it will not communicate?  On cranking over it does get fuel and spark but won't start.  With no check engine light or codes what could be some possibilities?

Does the OBD II port have power going to it? There has been a few cases on that year model truck that has issues with that plug under your steering wheel failing to communicate.

I have the same problem on my 96 Ram. It spins but won't fire up. The check engine light is not on. If the check engine light does come on it will fire up. But if it is off it will not fire up. I have already replaced the ecm and I've tried 3 different ecm's. None of them would fire the check engine light and none would start the truck. I've been going through the wiring but haven't found anything yet. Anyone have some insight on this?
