Transmission slips between 1300 & 1800 rpm in 5th gear

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine runs fine...in neutral it revs without hesitation but when driving, whenever I'm slowing down and begin to accelerate from a roll the car feels like it's surging or the transmission slipping as soon as it reaches 1300 to 1800 rpms....almost as if it's in between gears. It doesn't slip when accelerating from a dead stop and goes thru the gear changes with no slippage. Has anyone experienced this with a Fusion?
