It sounds like its a key program issue or possibly something to do with ICM (ignition Control Module)

Am having the exact same issue with my new 1500 5.7 Hemi. Started last week, engine would crank in the AM but not start. Check engine light went on. EVERY single morning. Car is in garage.... Then the same issue if I was at work and the engine was off longer than 3-4 hrs. Second try at restarting always without any problems. Car has been in service dept. since yesterday and they say it's starting just fine, so they have to wait until it acts up again because at this point they have no clue where to look?!
