My 1996 dodge ram 1500 will idle low enough to stall out and im not sure what it is

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I got my truck I got a complete tune up on it, replaced spark plugs, dist. cap, rotor, pcv valve, and new wiring. So I don't know what is causing my truck to stall out. When my truck is idling the rpms are under 1,000. Im not sure how to fix this, but the only thing that came to mind is turning the rpms up. Any suggestions on what else it could be or what I should do before I spend a ton of money on parts?

I have the same exact truck and it gapoened to me.try this.over the course of one minute slowly ease off the gas pedal, when it comes back down to 1000rpms it will now idle everyone sais fuel pump, regulator gas filter,so i tried the easiest first.it resets the computer and never had a problem since.mine started doing this when the battery was not making contact so the computor screws up.sounds funny but it works

1997 dodge ram 1500, the noise has been just a ticking noise. but i don't drive it hardly , 150,000 miles. i had to add a quart of oil. it made the most horrible banging noise, the guy at auto zone, claims he couldn't hear it. i was between two buildings to get to the drive through, an it sounded horrible. What could it be? possible needs plugs. ????
