when just sitting it goes up and down to almost stalling

forget the throttle control for now either stuck open or closed ,up or down yours is flucterating,yea may be vac leak,,, stick an old peice of rad hose in your ear and listen for the hiss or ck. temp sensor, the one for TCV it may have crud on the portion in the coolent chamber or about wore out
