HEATER/A/C FAN

Asked by ralph_b1 Jul 10, 2010 at 12:57 PM about the Dodge Grand Caravan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Heater and A/C fan speed fluctuates at all settings.  Recently replaced the resistor, worked fine for 4 months.  Recently fan motor speed began fluctuating at the higher speed settings.  In other words if you put it on max it goes max for a few minutes, then gets slower, faster at random and may even stop.  If you turn off the fan for a few minutes it seems to return to normal most of the time.  One time did not go back on.
Any ideas?  Fan does now sound different.

thank you,

I had the exact same problem on a 2005 Dodge Caravan...replace the a.c./heater resistor & the blower motor 2 make sure u gt the right 1 coz wn either 1 is bad it makes the other 1 malfuction & the resistor controls the fan speeds so always replace both at the same time...this should solve all ur problems & make sure 2 use a certified mechanic coz the blower motor is behind the glove box in a very tight tricky position
