Engine Idle Fluctuation -what can cause this?

Can bad gas cause your rpms to flucuate? say from 700 to 1200 and then back down to 700 repeatedly? What are other possible causes?

on my 96 ram 1500 w/360 i had a bad idle air control valve and a bad TPS once i replaced those things i had no issues, but yes bad gas could also cause that

I've replaced my idle engine control valve in my 2007 Dodge Dakota 4.7. It still fluctuating it's in idle what else could be the problem
