Either you have water in the gas, or your Dak is meant to run 89 octane or higher. If I run 87 octane in my 330hp H.O. Dak (even when it was just 265hp), it stutters, switches back and forth from 3rd to 4th gear. Octane booster will not bring it high enough. Pay the few extra cents for 89 octane.

Your Dakota is most definitely not meant to run with 89 or higher octane, unless someone has modified it. Does this happen on acceleration when coasting, at idle or all the time? When hot/cold or all the time? Manual or automatic?
