Check engine light

2006 caravan with 233,000 miles has chech engine light on.  Bought a new
gas cap from dealer, filled tank, drove it for awhile, and check engine light
went off for awhile, then came back on.  Any ideas why this is happening.  
Need to get CE light off to get license plate sticker!

We got these codes when we failed the Illinois emissions test. P0404 P0441
