what type of transmission coolant do I use

Asked by kraebat Dec 02, 2015 at 05:16 PM about the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 had pin hole in cooler, slips out of gear,
decreased power.

1 Answer

First fix the leak and then add enough ATF (transmission fluid) to fill it up. Your owners manual will tell you how to check the level and what fluid to use. Don't drive it until you fix the leak or you may be buying a new transmission!
