Fuel issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed distributor cap, rotor and spark
plugs. Truck turns on then shuts off
immediately. If hold the gas down the truck
stays on. Do I need a fuel pump? The truck
is an 88 Silverado

I have the same issues with mine!! I replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, fuel pump...you name it! Had a new motor installed.... still same issue! If you find the problem, please share with me? Thank you in advance

It turned out to be the spark plug wires on the distributor cap. They were all offset by one. She was runs great just have to idle her down a bit. Eventually I will get a new fuel pump and filter.
