i have a chevy s10 2.4 engine that i would like to put into my 2001 nissan frontier that has a 3.3 ngine, can this be done

With enough money you can swap any engine you want but it will cost way more than it is worth.

Not really, and the s10 came with a 2.2 or a 4.3. Idk where this 2.4 came from
