iv swapped my s10 to a v8 and it runs great at an idol an up to 4000 rpm. my problem is that it starts to cut out almost like its missing after4000 rpm. if its held at that rpm or steadly climbs, but it doesnt do it if u rais the rpms quickly. my question, whats the problem??

there are a lot of things that can be the problem, did you change the computer for the truck. ignition,vacuum advance or electronic, fuel supply(psi) carb size, cam profile, intke and exhaust flow. what did you get the motor out of ir did you build it? 4000 is a lot of rpm to run a motor at with out a load on it. i hope some of this helps maybe give an idea of some things to look at. steve

hey shelby, it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. if you snap the throttle open, the accelerator pump will mask a lean out condition. if it was ignition related, it would generally get worse with rpm. hei is especially bad about that.
