2013 chevy equinox

Asked by Disappointedchevy Nov 09, 2018 at 01:05 PM about the Chevrolet Equinox

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 equinox stalled out yesterday would not
start .i towed it in to chevy! Service department is
telling me the car was down 4 quarts of oil and
engine is blown I just had oil changed at chevy
dealer on sept 15th.  There was no dash lights on
the car ran fine no indication anything was wrong!
Funny how Im at 100 and 13 thousand miles! I
bought a brand new chevy traverse in feb and
chevy had to put new transmission in it in april! Im
so disappointed in chevy! I think its time for a
lawyer!

Lawyer yes, also file complaint on behalf of yourself and other chevy owners with your states attorney general division of consumer protection. If you file for yourself and others then when they complete their investigation and determine whether the dealer is committing any violations the will prosecute the dealer for you. They can only do this if you file on behalf of others not if you file just for yourself. They will investigate either way and inform you of their findings but you will have to do the prosecuting. I would immediately inform them that you are holding them responsible since they just did the oil change and they are the only place that has done any work on the vehicle. I would also encourage you to get a trusted shop (not Chevy) to look at it and document their findings. Ask your friends and family who they use for mechanics. Good luck!!

Here is another screen shot. Look up chevy Equinox losing oil an class action lawsuits

It's not your oil change you have to go after it's chevy. This is a known defect

As you can see the oil monitoring system is also defective that's why the engines are getting blown because Noone knows they have low oil. The oil combustion is causing timing chain to go bad ect an then blown engine. I'm going to look into a class action suit in Ohio. They had them in several states already an won them all. Best of luck making these crooks pay for this. My car has 60,000 miles on it and I have to constantly put more oil in it never ends. They haven't done any recalls on this because they fear how widespread it really is an the money they will lose.
