how do i remove the wiper arm

the clip holding the spring in the wiper arm broke now i cna not get back on. so i thought i would replace the arm. i removed the nut but I can not get the arm off

If you removed the nut off the top of the wiper arm, your next step is to slowly work with a "thin" (and I cant stress this enough) flat screw driver to work at budging the wiper arm base "up" off the wiper arm connector by pressing between the two. It might help to spray some WD40 down the thread area were you took the nut off to see if that helps.
