Gauges went haywire and now check engine light is on what's wrong?

Asked by Cathleen Jul 03, 2010 at 06:39 PM about the Chevrolet Cobalt

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my cobalt and it felt like it was shifting even though it is an automatic. So I
parked it and it has been fine...then today the gauges went crazy and the check engine light
is now on. I turned it off and then the gauges fixed themselves but the check engine light is
now on.. Any idea what it could be?

you have to scan the computer to find out what is wrong. That would be the only way. Try to find someone with a code reader.

I have an electrical problemwithmine not on GM mechanic can figure it out they have hooked it up to a computer and still haven't figured it out it just keeps costing us money no one knows what's wrong
