GM Ignition problem?

If i were to buy a used 2005 chevy cobalt or
something around that year, could i possibly get
one with the ignition problem?

Maybe, but before buying it, get the VIN and have the local Chevy dealer look it up for you to see if the recall was completed yet.

I agree. That problem was years ago so its highly unlikely it hasn't been fixed. Any dealer can look it up and see what, if anything it was ever recalled for and if the recall repairs were done. It's just a phone call.
