Air bag deployment is not speed dependent. It depends on what and how hard you hit something. They are designed to let you still operate the car if possible to allow you to come to a safe stop. Comes in handy in my area where deer are hit weekly.

i beg to differ, the standard used to be 15 miles per hour OF FORCE... The Mercedes DOES depend on speed, it instantaneously determines the safest amount of force to deploy on DEPENDING THE SPEED, DRIVING CONDITIONS A(as in your immediate response and swerve) AND WEIGHT IN THE SEAT for the passenger!!!!!!!!!, their are many sensors in the Benz, so nto all may deploy, only ones necessary
