If it has a camshaft position sensor, try that. They are cheap. If not maybe it's the computer. Check and see if 04 Cav has chip key. If so you will have to program the key. Now you know why so many are in the junk yard. No one can steal the car which protects the insurance company, but no one can fix the car which screws the actual owner. Anyway if you go to an expert they will at least go right to the problem but it will cost $100 per hour labor.
