you are looking at roughley 450 hp at 5800 rpm and 510 to 515 ft.lb of torque at 3500 rpm . those specs are from the new 454's i have no idea how mutch the older ones are . i would half to say that the old style would be pushing roughley the same numbers

The stock 454 i pulled out of my 74 truck was pushing 360 hp and it was stock everything. It had 150,000 miles though so it was a 390hp motor new im sure.

depends on what year............late sixties 454.....about 400hp stock.......but newer than that like seventies eighties or ninteys prolly about 200 to 250hp

the older 454's could put out roughly 425 hp and 450 ft. pounds of torque

youre right on the money for the ls6. without the insurance crap back then it would of been over 500.

I got a 27ftr motor home with a 1971 freshly rebuilt the msn told me he took out of sn old chevelle ss that he hsd tottaled it runs sweet it don't have no problems tsking off 0-60 in about 4/5 secs not bad for what it's pulling

All the above how numbers are performance 454 hp numbers from performance cars of the early 70's, 70-71. The 1990-91 SS454 Chevy C1500 only had 230hp. So the average stock 454 is 250hp. They changed the rating system from gross horsepower to net horsepower in 1972 net is more realistic but not always dead on.

I do have a 73 c20 with stock 454 rated st 290 hp and 355 lb. Torque at 2800 rpm.
