can i replace my 1997 w 4.3 with a 1998 x 4.3

i have a 1987 blazer with a W 4.3L engine, will the engine from a 1998 s-10
pick up with an X 4.3L work in it?
i know i will have to change the oil pump and the oil pan.

You are gonna have problems installing an OBD2 engine in an OBD1 truck.
