So I went to place to get free diagnostic and they said it
wasn't ready so to pick up tomorrow so when I go there
the car already taken apart and he said he order the part
when I just ask for diagnostic and won't give me my car
back unless I pay him for labor for taking my car apart can
he legally do this and I live in California if that help for any
laws
Excuse me for asking, BUT,. wasn't this a FREE diagnosis? Actually,. I don't think you're obligated, however, tell them that to be sure you are going to call the Bureau of Automotive Affairs if they want to be sure.. I think once you tell them that, they will release your car to you. I seem to recall that in California,.they're required to hand you an estimate for any work prior to taking your car.. And, the essence of a FREE diagnosis is terribly INCONSISTENT with what you have said. I'm NOT an attorney, so, don't take this as legal advice.
