Customize it how? HP? Boost, or Swap are really your only options. But a Swap with boost would really be ideal. I/H/E is cheapest way but dont expect much in the way of gains. Lower it? Get some quality springs or coils, no Ebay or Pep Boys junk. Depending on your budget. My tip buy some FF type1, OEM EM1 rims, b16 swap would be super easy for a del sol. Get some LCAs or soemthing for something visual. THe key thing is, no ebay junk, generic exhausts, no graphics, wings shit like that.

Customizing is all in the eye of the beholder. You make it what you want it to be. Its your canvas bro.

As far as handling, the more you lower it the more you'll compromise in the quality of ride. Going faster... The D16Z6 has plenty of ECU tuning potential if you want to keep that engine. And to be real honest, the B16 won't be worth your while. With just a few bolt-ons and proper tuning a Z6 will be faster than the B16, and at that point you mind as well just invest in it. The B16 also cost more for aftermarket support. However they have very nice gearing in their trannys. Both can be very nice when boosted, its your call. They call them the torqueless wonders. But unless they are boosted or shooting NOS its not really all that. A B18c1 would be a nice little powerplant to start with if you find the money.

That sounds really nice what kind of lowering equipment should i be looking for and some bolt ons for the engine to make it a bit quicker but for the turbo not rite now i dont have the cash necessary for that lol

If you're going to lwoer your car, do NOT put cut springs on your car! A lot of people do this and its horrible for the car and feels like crap! When it comes to suspension, don't cut corners, go with a company who has a good reputation. Well known companies out there include Koni, Tein, Tanabe, Tokico, H&R etc. Look them up, ask around, shop for prices. For your budget, and in equivalence in quality of product I would recommend something like the Tokico Illuminas. They're not made for hardcore drag racing or anything. But they are an upgrade. Your springs are going to depend on what kind of ride you prefer, and what you need it for. Soft and hard is pretty much what they come down to, and there's many settings. Now making your car faster possibly in preparation of a turbo setup varies. Typically you need to open everything up and get rid of as much air restriction as you can. That usually involves, a slightly larger exhaust, intake system and headers. Its not a significant gain, but its steps toward your goal. Secondly you need to ask yourself what your power goals are and what you want out of this setup. If you're trying to push a crazy amount of HP for drag racing or something you might need to look into stronger pistons and rods. For instance a D16a6's rods will typically bend past the ballpark of 200-225ish, so a lot of people upgrade to Eagles or Vitaras. Some people will say you should rebuild your engine first. It makes it more reliable among others things but not mandatory. I'd recommend it. For street, DD use, you're not going to want to drive around a 300HP Del Sol. You probably don't have enough room in your area to utilize that kind of setup. And as light as these cars are it can be a pain at times. I suggest for a turbo setup, start yourself off at around 170-200 HP and see how you like that. Then you can go from there. Don't build some monster you can't handle or isn't DD friendly, because you'll hate it. You'll need to decide in what kind of Turbo you want, there's all kinds out there, so you have to do your research. Then find the parts you need to build what you want and have someone tune it for you.
