Try bouncing the car by pushing down on a fender as hard as you can. The car should not bounce more than once or maybe twice. If it bounces several times the shocks are worn out. If the shocks are leaking oil they are bad.

try pushing the car down hard 4-5 times the area above the shock. on the 5th push the car should go down come up and settle. do this over all the shocks. If the car keeps bouncing after you have released after the 5 times. this means that shock is weak. which will cause poor steeing, and bottoming out.
